Artist Bio
CUSCINO (pronounced coo • shee • no) is a music producer, DJ, and host/producer of the nationally-syndicated weekly radio mix show "FutureSound with CUSCINO" which airs every Saturday night on numerous affiliate stations across the U.S., including Rez Radio 91.3FM (North San Diego), 100.7FM The Planet at Tarleton State University (Texas), KMSC 92.9FM Fusion 93 (Sioux City, Iowa), KDIV 98.7FM (Fayetteville, Arkansas), WASP 104.5FM (Huntington, West Virginia), and iHeartRadio + TuneIn, with more affiliate stations to be added.

Of Italian and German descent, CUSCINO's forward-thinking, euro-influenced music production style is literally in his DNA. His debut EP Eternality -- released late 2013 on Fashion Sells Musiq (Los Angeles) -- provided a first look inside of CUSCINO's progressive, textural approach to forward-leaning hip-hop infused futureBass. The EP received praise from MAGNET Magazine, Ad Hoc, and BPM.NY among other press outlets, as well as nationwide support from college radio music directors, landing CUSCINO's debut on the CMJ/NMR Top 40 RPM chart above new releases from Cut Copy and Boards of Canada.

His recent single “Bane” — also released on Fashion Sells Musiq (Los Angeles) — is a progressive trap banger released following CUSCINO’s festival appearance at Backwoods Music Festival (Oklahoma) with headliners Odesza, Porter Robinson, Dieselboy and Com Truise.

On the heels of "Bane", the CUSCINO-produced "Saucy" from Nuutrino (Los Angeles) was then released October 4, featuring J-Doe (of Busta Rhymes' Conglomerate/Sony label imprint) and Grammy-award winning Troy NoKA (RocNation), which successfully impacted national urban FM radio and held steady for 8+ weeks in the Top 40 National R&B/Hip-hop DRT chart amongst other heavyweights like Beyonce, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Tyga, Travis Scott and Chris Brown.

A classically trained guitarist from a young age, CUSCINO's penchant for dark, layered soundscapes stems from an early fascination with Spanish master players like Segovia. Later influences included Prince, Underworld, Goldie, KMFDM and Massive Attack, which led CUSCINO to the use of pianos, drum machines and turntables in his work far before "EDM" was ever a word burned in our collective conscious. The combination of his early classical influences with these later explorations in sound created a natural bridge for CUSCINO to integrate his distinctly textural, visceral-yet-human vibe across all his work, whether scoring to film, DJ'ing or producing his own music or for other artists.

As if that weren’t enough, CUSCINO has also scored numerous festival-awarded films, featuring lead talent such as Adrienne Lovette (Sunlight, Jr.) and Edwin Bravo (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) [see IMDB.me/CUSCINO | Full Credits List]. No matter the format, CUSCINO takes viewers & listeners on a visceral journey that's filled with rhythmic twists and turns, ambient sound, unforgettable melody, and a distinct sense of forward motion, propelling them full bore into the worlds of sound he creates.

Not content to simply follow trends or create copy-cat, derivative tracks, CUSCINO has been carving his own lane in the vein of what legendary producers like Pharrell dub being “The Other” -- a sound that is truly "that CUSCINO sound."

"The balance that he is able to maintain throughout his music, that of electronic dancefloor rhythms married with ornate, often pseudo-orchestral melodies, sets his music apart from the casual EDM masses. [It's] a fascinating musical line of thought when considering how electronic music has expanded and developed over the past three decades and how CUSCINO is part of its continuing evolution." - Beats Per Minute (NYC)

"...filled with rhythmic twists, ambient sounds and unforgettable melodies." - MAGNET Magazine

"The sign of greatness in music is when the artist leaves the listener wanting more. That kind of talent is easy to captivate on an EP but what CUSCINO does is truly telling. With moments that convey a bevy of emotions, the LA-based artist/producer has woven something moving, intoxicating and deeply impacting. This is most certainly a name to watch out for…" - Made of Chalk

"CUSCINO plays with the dark, layered pieces of his many influences, bringing his own husky beats and ominous synth lines to the table." - Ad Hoc (Brooklyn)
